Featured Finds: "Offbeat and Uncanny"
For those of you who don’t know, I work as a Production Curator for the sites Chairish and DECASO. And while curating the pieces on the sites, I come across some really fascinating art, furnishings and decor. It’s so inspiring and exciting to see new pieces come in that pique my interest. I’ve started saving my favorite finds and organizing them into mini collections and I am excited to present you with one of them - to give you something interesting to look at that might spark some inspiration in your work week!
One of the first things to stick out to me on DECASO was its selection of art pieces and paintings that I like to describe as “Offbeat and Uncanny.” Whether they were sculptures of distorted faces or abstract paintings that felt uncomfortable to look at, these were all pieces that provoked a strong reaction from me. Seeing the many different ways artists portray faces and the experiencing the feeling a face gives you when it’s only halfway what you were expecting is always intriguing to me. And while I don’t know if I could handle having any of these peering back at me at the end of the hallway, they certainly are visually stimulating to say the least.
Disclaimer: These articles don’t reflect the opinions/preferences of the sites they were found on, or their merchandising teams. They are just fun collections I have created out of pieces I came across while curating. Please note that since this article was published, DECASO has migrated to Chairish. Until next time!
