Vicky Vox Tells It like It Is at the Cafe in San Francisco Ft. Detox | Icon Alert

Ever since the start of the very exciting and high-energy 9th season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, I have been sashaying to The Cafe in the heart of San Francisco’s Castro District for viewing parties hosted by local diva Mahlae Balenciaga. During the commercial breaks of the episodes, Mahlae interviews famous and well-known drag artists scheduled to perform after the show. Some are even girls competing in the current season.

Last week, during the viewing of Episode 4, “Good Morning Bitches,” her special guest was former DWV member Vicky Vox. And in the audience, in town for the All Stars 2 event the following evening, was Vicky’s drag daughter, infamous Drag Race contestant and All Stars 2 finalist, Detox.

Sometimes, when Mahlae is interviewing someone who isn’t much of a speaker or comedian, she has to be the source of entertainment and work hard to move the show along. Luckily, Mahlae is one of the funniest and wittiest queens I’ve ever watched, and can handle any awkward moment guests throw at her.

But this week, with Vicky being a natural comedian and ridiculously savage thrower of shade, she took hold of the mic and made sure there was not a single beat of silence the entire evening. I truly enjoyed listening to her spill the tea on the Drag Race girls old and new. Sometimes I forget she’s never been in the show…why is that again?

Hope you enjoy watching her tell it like it is. Please give me a like on Facebook and subscribe to my YouTube channel for future Drag Race content. Cheers!
