Terrasol is Your One-Stop San Francisco Shop For Everything Christmas

Around this time three years ago, Steven and I were on the look for Christmas decor to fill the first apartment we moved into together. As we shopped, we realized that the pickings were quite slim all over town. It’s possible that it was the ultra polarizing political time the country was in that year that made it difficult for us to get into the holiday spirit. But we didn’t want to give up hope. So I researched where to shop for holiday-themed supplies, and lo and behold we discovered the Nob Hill boutique Terrasol.

Terrasol is a seasonal shop - known all year round for cards, candles, and other novelties and accessories - including face masks this year. But its main event is its legendary Christmas inventory, which will be available starting this weekend! Join me on a tour of this gorgeous winter wonderland, and get ready to begin infusing your home with some much-needed holiday cheer.

The Selection

When shopping for holiday gear at big box stores and online, it’s easy to get lost in a frenzy of dancing plastic lawn Santas, one-color bulb ornaments and polyester velour elf hats. But if you are looking for high-quality pieces to really elevate your Christmas tree, holiday tablescape or fireplace mantel display, this store is an absolute must.

They have a vast selection of hand-painted glass ornaments that can fit any style of tree. If you’re into classic Christmas colors and themes, they’ve got you covered. If you want to fill your tree with ornaments that represent your favorite foods or places you’ve visited this year (ok let’s make that places you’ve visited in previous years,) they’ve got you covered. It is the most expertly curated selection of ornaments I’ve ever come across, and we have loved filling our tree with our Terrasol finds year after year.

And whether you’re looking for a toy soldier for nut-cracking, an elf for your shelf or stockings for stuffing, I am confident you will find what you are looking for. In 2017, Steven and I were looking high and low for stockings and Santa hats to wear at festive events, to no avail. So when we found plush woven stockings and Santa hats at Terrasol, I was absolutely thrilled. Three years later and they still look as good as the day we took them home.

And while you’re there, you might as well pick up some gift wrap supplies. They’ve got holiday-themed bags, tags and greeting cards. And if you’re stuck on what to get someone as a stocking stuffer, there is sure to be an ornament dangling from a garland above you that will accurately represent their personality or style.
