Curated Finds: General Store
Right before the effects of COVID-19, Steven and I ventured out to the Sunset District for a day of shopping and checked out General Store for the first time. I documented my trip to both their primary and secondary San Francisco locations (the latter now closed with its inventory migrated over to the primary location,) so be sure to check out the link below to see a more in-depth take on what the boutiques were like.
But I later realized that they also had a selection of pieces sold on their website. So for those of you who don’t live near their San Francisco or Venice Beach locations, or just don’t want to shop in-person right now under the circumstances, I recommend checking out some of my favorite pieces from their online store!

Kati Von Lehman
You’ve heard me gush about her on my blog before when I purchased one of her pieces from (the now sadly closed) Totokaelo in Seattle, but I’ll say it again: Kati Von Lehman does amazing work. This Portland-based ceramist picks just the most gorgeous colors, textures and details, which always blow me away whenever I see them in person. She is an artisan I will continue to follow and shop no matter the city I’m shopping. And luckily, General Store has some of her pieces available to purchase online. Check out the sleek vessels down below.
Julie Cloutier
Julie Cloutier of Sonoma County is an artisan I discovered on my trip to General Store. She has decorative ceramic works for every function you can think of. Jewelry boxes, candle holders, light fixtures, games, you name it. Below are some of my favorite designs of hers from General Store, which according to her site are all food-safe, dishwasher-safe and non-toxic.
Gifts
After my trip through the home goods-centric selection, I checked out their gifts and apparel. They have birthday cards, magazines books, kids toys, clothing, accessories, you name it. But what stood out to me the most was their eye-catching jewelry selection and the most gorgeous selection of Montessori toys I’ve ever seen. I am taking note of brand names for when I have kids someday! In the meantime, I know I’ll be back to shop for my friends’ kids! Below are my four favorite of their online listings for crowd-pleasing gift-giving.
