Giuseppe's Valentine's Day Finds

Valentine’s Day can be seen as a bittersweet holiday for many when it’s regarded as a day to celebrate your romantic partner. But the way I see it, it can be an all-around sweet holiday if you focus it on showing your loved ones how much you care. So we are celebrating Giuseppe’s first ever Valentine’s Day with a basket of themed goodies. And we’d like to share with you some of our favorite picks.

Toy Kit | Wild One

We couldn’t talk about pink dog essentials without discussing the Wild One toy kit, now available in small and standard sizes, and an assortment of colors.

If you have a dog that is on the smaller side (20 lbs or less,) I really recommend getting the small sized toys. Back when we first brought Giuseppe home, Wild One only had the standard size toys available, and they ended up being larger and heavier than I imagined. Giuseppe still loves using them; but it’s a bit hard for him to carry his standard triangle around and lick all of the peanut butter out of his bolt toy. As for the twist toss, I’d say a small pup can still use the standard size if you’d like to add a larger quantity of peanut butter to the inside of it. I also love that the rubber parts of these toys are dishwasher top-rack safe, making for easy cleanup each night!

Giuseppe has these toys in Blush, but if you’d like something more bright and vibrant, might I suggest the new Strawberry option!

Bandanas | Max & Co. Pets

Max & Co Pets always has a beautiful selection of bandanas, along with options to personalize each piece with embroidery. Not to mention, their customer service is fantastic. Check their size guides before purchasing, to ensure you have the right size bandana for your pooch (and size up if they are between sizes.) Giuseppe is photographed above wearing the Pink Butterfly Pleated style.

Pink n’ Peach | MaxBone

This Valentine’s Day, I’ve compiled a list of our favorite pink and peach colored MaxBone picks. Starting with some closet essentials to finish out the winter season. I know that for many of my west coast friends, spring is already on its way. But for those of you who are still braving the snow and frigid air, MaxBone’s Arabella Puffer vest and matching Balaclava are must-haves.

Playtime

Now let’s talk about playtime essentials. Below we have three delightful toys: A quality elephant designed to stand up to tougher chewers, a rope toy for playing fetch, and the rubber decagon that has been essential to Giuseppe’s teething process. Last but not least, the roll-up mat is something we always take with us when we visit family and friends, so that Giuseppe always has a soft place to play or nap.

Walk Essentials

Next up are the MaxBone walk essentials: A stylish hands-free leash with a matching harness, waste bag holder and attachable storage pouches. Not to mention two styles of bowls for serving water and food on the go. And for those of you who love neutrals like me, the Go! With Ease leash set and harness now come in black and camel.

Odin Treat Dispenser | Up Dog

It was all thanks to our local groomer/pet boutique Neon Dog that we discovered this treat dispenser. It’s a great quality feeder by Up Dog, which can be filled with your pup’s favorite training treats or kibble. Giuseppe adores the added challenge and independence in dispensing his own meal, and it encouraged him to eat his puppy kibble when he first arrived at our home. Another added feature is that it has a modular design. If you connect two or more together, it creates a more dynamic experience and a greater challenge for your pup.

Valentine’s Favorites | Neon Dog

Speaking of Neon Dog, it just so happens to be the place where I sourced many of Giuseppe’s other goodies in his gift basket.

Plush toys from P.L.A.Y are essential if your pup loves to tear up their toys. They’ve been some of the most resilient pieces we’ve purchased. The champagne bottle comes with a giggle stick inside that makes for extra engaging play. And it wouldn’t be a complete list without including some Valentines-themed treats. This year Neon Dog featured Bocce’s Bakery’s Red Velvet treats and Bonne et Filou’s Rose Macarons.

We are so excited to be celebrating Giuseppe’s first ever Valentine’s Day. And we’ve got a very special Giuseppe-themed guide scheduled next month for his first birthday. Be on the lookout for that! Until we meet again!
